Penwith Volunteer Bureau has now become an Umbrella Organisation with The Criminal Records Bureau and as such, we are now able to offer our Disclosure Service to organisations who require both registered volunteers and paid members of staff to undergo a check.

The CRB make a charge of £36 for an employed person to have a CRB check but they make no charge for a volunteer.

We have offered a free service for as long as possible, but we are finding the work required has become very time consuming and unfortunately, as from the 1st January 2010 it has been necessary for the Bureau to charge an administration fee of £10 per Disclosure. Thus, a paid employee will incur a charge of £46 and a volunteer £10.
