PENWITH PALS

'We aim to assist the elderly within our community to maintain their independence, improve their well-being and make their lives a little easier.'

Volunteers are requested to befriend and visit an elderly person on a regular basis.

A prospective volunteer will need to register as a Penwith PAL at the bureau.

Sue Ryan will arrange a CRB check, which is a statutory requirement for all volunteers working with vulnerable clients on a regular basis.

Training will be provided if necessary, either in a group or one-to-one.

Sue will accompany you as a new volunteer on a first visit and discuss the placement with both you and the elderly client.

Ongoing encouragement and support is provided.
